The Ministry of Health in the Turks & Caicos reports its thirteenth COVID-19 related death in a press statement on Sunday.
“On Saturday, February 13, 2021, a flight en route to the United States declared a medical emergency on board, and was diverted to the Providenciales International Airport. On arrival the passenger was found to have succumbed to illness, and out of an abundance of caution a COVID-19 test was done which has since returned positive,” the press release stated.
Details of the origin of the flight and whether the passenger boarded the flight with a negative COVID-19 test remain unknown. More Caribbean Update on this developing story soon.
