The Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, of Trinidad and Tobago has tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
According to the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr Rowley was scheduled to receive his first dose of COVID-19 vaccine yesterday when he began to experience flu-like symptoms and was subsequently tested for COVID-19.
The Prime Minister had previously announced that he was in Tobago over the Easter holidays. He was expected to take the vaccine at the Scarborough Health Centre around 2 p.m. yesterday.
Dr Rowley is currently in isolation and is under medical supervision.
